A Return To Play

Reintroducing tennis fans to the energy of the game with a modern clubhouse meant for play.

For two weeks, the US Open is truly, and finally, open to all.

Through interactive, diverse and playful experiences we brought the world of tennis, in all its eclectic manifestations, to all types of fans. Letting fans be fans, however they want to express their passion.

Our clubhouse centered around an interactive tennis experience, where fans stepped up to a digital court and played a game of glow tennis.

Bespoke game design, fun for ages 4 to 94.

We developed a competitive UX/UI that blended a physical Vive racket and LED court with custom game design that became more challenging the better a player did. Through haptics, various obstacles and custom sounds designed for all ages, tennis fans were met with a new challenge every time they stepped up to the court.

Bring the trick shot.

Whimsical, playful, and interactive, we created a Rube Goldberg type machine that challenged fans to complete the ultimate series of trick shots, providing an additional touchpoint of play that blended tech with the real world.

Digital Mementos

To commemorate the 30th anniversary of Amex at the US Open, we commissioned artist Vero Escalante to create three POAPS, or digital collectibles, that were exclusive to card members. Each collectible served as a memento to the experience that fans stored in their Web3 wallet, unlocking exclusive rewards with each mint.
